Artist's Comments

Domestic violence themed photo shoot.

(Don't worry, Andrew doesn't beat me)

Any tips for improving the black eye on Photoshop will be appreciated. So far I've just been using the burn tool.

Hmm... a bit of soft-light filtered yellow/green and purple would make it more bruise-like. [link]

Very provocative image. The gentleness of the pose and lighting vs. the blackened eye... well done! The bruise on your upper arm looks great!

Timmy: Dead Lizard! Angelica, you cheated!
Angelica: Me! What about you, popsicle boy?
Kid: I didn't find any dead lizard.

or better yet, cut and paste a real one (like the one lockstock linked you to) and blend it in.

I can't help you with the photoshop. With the photo, You can easily see the theme, however, it seems like it's the husband you should be sorry for. You're giving such a fierce angry face and his body language is so soft, it's like the role are switched, unless that was the intention, because i know there is actually a lot of domestic violence agains men that doesn't ever get reported (one man was stabbed to death and was constantly attacked by his wife and she got off free). So it does actually work.

I think you need to be strong like you are in the face, but a little bit of softeness, and sorrow would really help switch the roles. It would make it feel like the after map. however, there is a lot of artistic licence to this one so this comment is definitely more one artist opinion to another than critique :)

however, the light is drop dead wonderful for the mood! It is by far the most important aspect I see in this photo it really sets the sage for you two crazy models :P

The hands are wonderfully place in this picture, it's really well done.

yeah it looks a bit more like you are turning into a zombie... a good-looking naked zombie lol. But I can honestly see the black-eye. I suggest that for this kind of art, you gain inspiration through practicing make-up art, especially gore. I'm a fan of [link] when it comes to makeup. I suggest her to you. I think you'd both like each other.

I'm deeply sorry to hear what you went through. Honestly I'm quite speechless. I hope you're okay now, and that whoever did those things to you is no longer capable of repeating such actions.
